Great peace of mind product!!!

I purchased this alarm package more for peace of mind than security. I firmly believe that anyone who owns an expensive motorcycle should have this professionally installed. I could have self-installed this system. However, my motorcycle has very little available room that isn't immediately surrounded by metal which hinders sensor/cellular performance. Self-installation would have taken me about three hours in total which would have included finding optimal sensor sites and sensor adjustments. The perimeter sensor is quite sensitive. Although it's rather expensive to buy and set up with a data plan compared to other alarms, it offers many features that justify the cost. Essentially, when installed properly, the system performs as advertised. I really liked the notification of alarms via cell phone which I find to be more reliable than the FM pagers used by other alarms. This is especially true while shopping inside a large mall, inside a very large mostly metal building, or when you're beyond a half mile from where your motorcycle is stored. The GPS is more accurate and updates more frequently than any other motorcycle trackers I've had in the past. I've operated the system using just the web browser on my cell phone. However, don't expect things to happen instantaneously like using the RFID fob because, on average, I've experienced a 15-30 sec delay depending upon 2G cellular signal strength. The same applies to escalating violation alerts via SMS and emails. Be aware that some units being sold at a good discount because they're mostly 1st generation units which have been wrought with several communication problems. I bought one thinking I was getting away with a steal. It turned out that my main unit refused to coomunicate with the Aritronic servers for activation on a valid data plan, which I purchased separately, due to a incorrect SIM card. The 2nd gen units don't have this problem. My total turnaround for my unit was 4 days because I live in Texas and Aritronics is based out of Arizona. In all, I had a very good experience with Aritronics' 1st and 2nd tier(technicians)customer service staff. As mentioned before, I bought this system more for peace of mind. It's main job is to deter opportunistic/casual thieves and potential joy-riders not to stop more-determined pros which I believe it does well as part of a multi-layered protection scheme. Before buying this system, I highly recommend that you're sure you can multi-task effectively on your cell phone, in case theft does happen. I say this because, where I live, the police are not familiar enough with LoJack and this system for effective stolen vehicle tracking to prevent your precious from being fatally dismantled in transit to their chop shop. Which means, I'm better off tracking my stolen motorcycle myself via my cell phone while talking to the 911 operator to help guide their pursuit. Although this system cannot provide the level of security and peace of mind that can be provided by a great full-coverage insurance policy, I believe it's a very close second.

It took me about 45 mins to install with my bro.... Easy to put on and I don't think you need to even read... After installation I think the harest thing to understand was how the system worked with the remote but once I purchased the app for the iPhone it was easier..... This device is a most get....low jack is in trouble ...!!!!
